Educational Services


Ben Franklin Society: performs independent and collaborative projects to enhance the educational, cultural and economic development of Franklin County by leveraging its natural and historical resources. 252-767-1167

Community Services


Franklin County Department of Social Services:  serves the community through the effective delivery of family-centered services, which will promote and achieve self-sufficiency and enhance the quality of life for its entire people. The Care and Share Program provides supplemental and emergency food assistance to Franklin County residents.  Home Mobility Aid provides assistive devices and equipment to blind and disabled Franklin County residents.   Happy Camper provides financial assistance to Franklin County youth who would otherwise be unable to attend camp.  919-496-8103


Legal Aid of North Carolina: provides free legal services in civil matters to low-income individuals in order to ensure equal access to justice and remove legal barriers to economic opportunity.  919-686-6396

Elderly Services


The Franklin County Department of Aging: strives to meet the needs of all senior citizens in Franklin County through daily, weekly and monthly activities and services to enhance their quality of life socially, physical, mentally and health wise.  919/496-1131


Emergency Services


The American Red Cross:  provides immediate disaster relief to anyone affected by disasters such as single family fires or natural disasters, regardless of age, gender or cultural background.  The citizens we serve in Emergency Services are in need of housing, food, groceries, new clothing and support.  919-231-1602


Lake Royale Community Emergency Response Team:  to educate and provide assistance to citizens to in the event of a disaster of any type until emergency responders can arrive.  252-478-4121
