Day of Caring

The United Way of Franklin County, for its Day of Caring, took the motto of the Boys & Girls Club of “Great Futures Start Here,” to heart and decided to engage in a community project to lift up the Boys & Girls Club of Franklin County.  While we have been partners in the past it was time to make a considerable impact.

Along with local businesses and over 75 volunteers in the community we were able to mulch and repave the playground; paint the outdoor equipment, cafeteria, and lobby; create an outdoor classroom along with raised planters for garden beds; provide art supplies, balls and jump ropes, storage cabinets for the kitchen and game room; and last, but certainly not least, a mural for the front of the building.

Please support and pass on thanks to the following businesses for donating either time or resources to this year's day of caring:

Bethany Community Church

Covenant Trucking

Dicks Sporting Goods

Eaton Corporation

Franklinton Middle School

Thanks to Louisburg College student Julius Shumpert and Franklinton Middle School art teacher, Rebecca Culver (and a few of her students) for painting the mural,  the community can now not only easily identify the Boys and Girls Club but also be proud of what they have become.  And Thank you to both boards and numerous volunteers who either donated time or funds to make this a success!

Volunteers are always welcomed and needed.
