Testimonials

A recipient of the inclement weather meals said, "I wanted to write and thank United Way for the inclement weather meals I'd received from the funds provided by United Way. I think it was so kind and generous of United Way to do this for the members of the county. I do not drive and my walking isn't good so the meals will come in handy in an emergency situation."

"I want to thank you for your donation. I came in second place for showmanship, first place for my Project Book, fourth place for the Goat IDA and then I got Franklin County Go Getter Award. This was a great experience but without people like you and others, we would not be able to learn, or even experience new things."

Thank you all so much for the wonderful opportunity you afforded us this past year. We learned so much through our hands-on learning of botany and gardening. We were able to purchase gardening tools, outside planters, a Grow Lab for our classroom, plus many seeds and bulbs. We learned many ways to propagate flowers and vegetables. In the fall, we planted a beautiful bulb garden that was visible from the cafeteria and the main hall. Parents, teachers, and especially students voiced their appreciation as we all enjoyed our BIG "bouquet" for weeks. We sowed seeds in February and March for outside planting in April and May. We planted a "salsa" and vegetable garden and also a butterfly garden. Students also took many seed packets and seedlings home to grow their own gardens. Students and their families learned so much about nutrition, interdependence, and the pleasures that can be had in gardening.
